Non Sine Cogitatione

Waiting, watching, wistfully wondering,
A woman stares across the rails.
Pondering, preparing, painfully pausing,
His train pulls in with scrapes and wails.

Forlorn, forgotten, faithlessly forfeit,
A suitcase lies there on the floor.
Depressed, downtrodden, dejectedly decided,
Its owner choosing life no more.

Bulging, broken, badly beaten,
It holds roses for a world of hate
Looking, loving, lastly laughing,
The owner takes a leap of faith.

Upset, unsettled, unbelievably uproarious,
The crowd is frightened by what they see.
Solemnly, soberly, surprisingly struck,
The woman reminded -- memento mori.
